MAHZERNAMA

(An Explanation of Our Stand)

This is a document originally prepared for submission to a Select Committee of the National Assembly of Pakistan in 1974 and in which the beliefs of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community have been explained in detail and, also, replies to various allegations commonly made against the Community.

The Pakistan National Assembly had been asked to declare the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community non-Muslim', The Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community was requested by the National Assembly to appear personally before the Committee and explain the Ahmadiyya beliefs. The present document, entitled MAHZERNAMA, was prepared at that time and distributed to all the members of the Assembly for their information.

Strange as it may appear, the Government of Pakistan of the time - and even successive governments - did not allow the publication of this document. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community was eventually declared  "Non-Muslim" for the purpose of the Constitution and laws without the general public being informed of the heliefs of the Community which had been found unIslamic".

A copy of the booklet was presented by a member of the Pakistan National Assembly to one of his Ahmadi friends who, in turn, very kindly forwarded it to us here in the United Kingdom.

We are now presenting this submission to the general public so that they may find out at first hand whether the beliefs that are held by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community are Islamic or not and whether the Pakistan National Assembly had any grounds whatsoever for declaring the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community "non-Muslim".
