Jesus was made to appear to them as one crucified

In 1991, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community published an Urdu booklet titled Wa laakin Shubbiha Lahum. The present work, Jesus Was Made to Appear to Them as One Crucified, is an English rendering of it. The original work was written as a refutation of the booklet Nuzool-e-'Isa: Chand Shubhaat kaa Jawaab [Descent of Jesus: Response to Some Misgivings].

The author of the Descent of Jesus, Maulavi Muhammad Yusuf Ludhianavi, was a leader of Majlis-e-Ahrarul-Islam and Majlis-e-Tahaffuz-e-Khatm-e-Nubuwwat. Both organizations are known for their extreme views against Ahmadis. This booklet claimed that there has always been a consensus among Islamic scholars that Jesus is alive in the heavens and that this belief is part of the Islamic creed. Referring to Ahmadi beliefs, the author declared in the booklet that they amount to kufr [disbelief].

In response, the present work effectively demonstrates that the assertions made by the Maulavi are false and exposes his attempts to deceive readers. The Maulavi deliberately chose not to take into account the teachings of the Qur'an, hadith, and the opinions of some of the most respected Islamic scholars. He also wrongfully alleged that Ahmadis do not believe in the second coming of the Messiah.
